Dear friends,
It’s awesome to see (and read) so many beautiful haiku and tanka inspired on the theme of this year’s Carpe Diem Summer Retreat that I am just feeling proud and humble that I can and may host this Summer Retreat.
Here is my third submission for this Summer Retreat. This time I have chosen a rengay (a haiku form invented by Gary Gay) from my archives:
The starting verse (hokku) is by Basho in a translation by myself.
breathtaking
sprouting green leaves
in the sunlight
sunbeams in the mirror
her smile even brighter
in the mirror
a man in the autumn of his life
his hair turned gray
gray misty morning
cows legs in the meadow
crowing of a cock
colorful field of flowers
finally exposed to the sun
breathtaking
colors sparkling in dewdrops
just one heartbeat

In this rengay I think you can find also (unconditional) love as is the theme for this year’s Summer Retreat.
See you next time ….
A beautiful Rengay 🌷🌻
